This image is part of a large body of work that features Eyre in single, double, and triple depictions with the costumes and settings of both historical periods and fantasy surroundings. Many of her photographs explore motherhood, identity, and sibling relationships, especially those of identical twins.
ABOUT JANIETA EYRE
Born 1966 in London
Janieta Eyre studied philosophy at the University of Toronto, then magazine journalism at Ryerson University and photography at the Ontario College of Art and Design. She has received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council. Eyre is a recipient of the Duke and Duchess of York Prize and has been an artist in residence at the Museum of Modern Art in Dublin.
